Activate S/MIME

To use S/MIME when sending scanned documents via e-mail, follow the procedure below to activate S/MIME functions.

When RICOH Devices (2012 models and later) with Standard Operation Panel are used, be sure to activate S/MIME before installing SLNX Embedded Application to devices. RICOH Streamline NX will install SLNX Embedded Application for S/MIME when S/MIME is activated. If SLNX Embedded Application is already installed, uninstall it first, and then install SLNX Embedded Application after activating S/MIME.

  1. Log in to the Management Console using a user account that has all the SysConfigRead, SysConfigWrite, and @RemoteCE Privileges.

  2. Go to [System] → [Server Settings] → [Advanced System Settings Editor].

  3. Click [View] → [Delegation Server Settings].

  4. Select [Global Settings].

  5. Find the "ds.scan.common.toEmail.enableSmime" key. If it does not exist, click (Add) and enter "ds.scan.common.toEmail.enableSmime" for [Key].

  6. Set [Type] to "Boolean", and [Value] to "True".

  7. Click (Save).

S/MIME is a prerequisite to use the Send to Email connector; do not disable S/MIME unnecessarily.
